Ever wonder how to decorate your Christmas tree to get that designer look?
Good evening! I hope everyone has brushed up on their bow making skills, because after this next video you are going to need them. Ha! It’s time to take those bows to the tree! In this video I’ll show you how I get that designer look for your tree. I start at the top and work my way down. I work with one element at a time to create balance and style. These are just some basic tips and guidelines to help you get started. Be creative and have fun with it!
In this video I will show you how to tie a bow like a professional!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas season so far. Here is the first of several videos to help make your Christmas beautiful. I often have people ask me to teach them to tie a bow for their tree. The three simple steps to remember are loop, pinch, and twist. Once you know how to do this, the possibilities are endless! In this video I am also going to show you how to tie a bow by layering several ribbons. When you layer less expensive ribbons on the bottom, you can add a small amount of a more expensive ribbon on the top for a fabulous designer bow! Every year I get so excited when Costco puts out their ribbons! It’s usually around the first part of November. I try to get several rolls to use as fillers on the Tree. At seven dollars for a fifty yard roll, you just can’t beat it! I use bows year round for different projects and hopefully now, you will too!
It is time to break out those Christmas decorations folks…
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere I go…
If you happen to run into me this time of year, normally you might see me sparkling from about a half a mile away! Yes, I am happy and smiling, but the sparkle I am referring to is Glitter! Glitter on my face, in my hair, in my shoes, in my closet, in my car, and really, just about everywhere I go. Along with that trail of glitter trees are trimmed, wreaths are hung, and all things are made beautiful for the Christmas Season. This year however is a little different for me. Several months ago I hurt my shoulder working at our house. It’s much better now, but I still haven’t been up to my normal schedule for getting my Christmas decorations up. I always look forward to spending time with clients during the holidays. It doesn’t seem quite the same. On the bright side Perry and the boys helped me put wreaths up at our house. We haven’t put them up in years. They needed a little TLC so I made all new bows to freshen them up.
The house looks so pretty all dressed for Christmas!
I love for my table to be set and ready for Christmas Eve dinner.
I love the smell of fresh cut trees, garland and the season’s atmosphere all around. I love the time I spend with just me and my family, and the excitement and joy of Christmas morning. Yes, there is just no other time of year quite like the Christmas season. Above all of these things, the part I love most about Christmas is the celebration of our Lord and Savior’s birth! The gift God gave to us, is the most wonderful gift of all! His one and only Son, Jesus, came to save the world and set us free!
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” -Luke 2:11
In the next few days I will be posting a couple video tutorials featuring tips to help improve your Christmas decorations this year. I hope they inspire you and help make your home beautiful this holiday season.
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
My first tutorial video is about how easy frame refinishing can be! In this video I will show you how I took an old out of style gold mirror frame and gave it a new stylish look. This technique is much easier to DIY than you would think. This is my favorite kind of project; one where I take something old and re-purpose it to give it a fresh look. There is nothing more satisfying than breathing life into an old piece that you just don’t love quite as much anymore. Also it can save you a few bucks which is also a plus, right?
Update – Here is what the refinished mirror looked like in my bathroom!
